Ex Machina and TFA

Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson are killing it.

Oscar Isaac Domhnall Gleeson

I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Christmas Day, and then my brother received Ex Machina as a present, which we watched later that day.

Both actors are in both movies, and a popular tweet summed up the funny parallel between the two: “Two movies released in 2015 where Oscar Isaac has a droid that Domhnall Gleeson wants very badly.”
The Force Awakens was fun and exciting, but Ex Machina is an incredibly beautiful and thought-provoking film; if you haven’t seen it yet, watch it immediately.

I re-watched Ex Machina this past weekend, and I still can’t get certain scenes out of my head (particularly the scene in which Nathan [Oscar Isaac] is positioned in front of a Jackson Pollock painting).

These two actors are incredibly talented and multi-faceted, particularly Isaac; the two characters he plays (Poe in The Force Awakens and Nathan) are nearly unrecognizable as the same man.

I only expect their careers to continue to flourish, and I can’t wait to see what else they do (hopefully together).

Here’s a cute clip of an interview they did together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT6Zetx6AVk
