The Spectacular Now Review- Maisie Noesen

I always struggle to find the perfect Valentine’s Day movie—I don’t want something to sappy, but I’m still looking for some type of dramatic love story. Yesterday, my friends and I watched The Spectacular Now. The Spectacular Now is a 2013 romantic- comedy. The partying, “bad” boy meets the nice, unpopular, yet not so innocent girl. The movie definitely sounds cliche, but the audience is more so drawn into Sutter Keely (played by Miles Teller) self-conflicted life and denial of making future plans.

Sutter is like any high school kid, he tends to have a lack of commitment and a lack of motivation for his future. Through ups and downs in the movie and with the help of Aimee (played by Shailene Woodley), he realizes what he needs to do to move forward and set his priorities straight. I really enjoyed this movie. It’s a refreshing love story and you guys should defiantly check it out!
