This week Disney announced that the production of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2″ has begun. Personally, I am very excited about this film. I thought that Marvel did an amazing job on the first film,”Guardians of the Galaxy.” It was a superhero film that didn’t take itself too seriously and was refreshingly comical. I thought that the first film did a great job of mixing seriousness, thrill, and humor all into one movie.
The first “Guardians of the Galaxy” was a surprisingly huge success with making $94.3 million opening box office and eventually $770million at the worldwide box office. It looks like I am not the only one who enjoyed the film. “Guardians of the Galazy Vol.2” is set to release May 5, 2017 around the same time as Star Wars: Episode VIII. 2017 will be a huge year for Disney and I predict that their box office profits will be through the roof with the release of these two films so close together.
Along with the already awesome cast made up of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel Disney also announced that they will be adding Kurt Russell to the cast. I am very interested to see what character he is going to play and how the dynamic amongst the original cast will change with him. But I have faith that this film will be just as big of a success if not bigger than the first one.
